The brother of a Baruch College student who died fighting for ISIS in 2015 didn’t want his sibling to join the terror group — but still helped him prep for the trip before leaving for Syria, it was revealed Tuesday.
Tarek el-Goarany's older brother, Samy el-Goarany, 24, traveled to Turkey in early 2015 and crossed the border into Syria shortly thereafter, where he then joined ISIS.
The circumstances surrounding how Samy el-Goarany arrived at the terrorist epicenter are presently at issue in the Manhattan Federal Court case against Ahmed Mohammed el-Gammal — who is accused of helping the college student get there.
Tarek el-Goarany testified that Samy grew increasingly obsessed with ISIS in summer 2014, while they were on break from school.
